Stag Comedy, Master Pancake Theater, Hot Property, and Mac Blake stand-up are all in action this month. Plus a Mascot Wedding first, an awesome new improv show, and all the details on our Out of Bounds appearances.
++Wed 8/31: Hot Property and Mac Blake stand-up at Out of Bounds.
On September Eve, sketch-prov group Hot Property help get the Out of Bounds Festival started at the Hideout Theater. Hot Props made a giant list of all their sketches, picked the best ones, refined them, and also shot a video. So BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU that this will be the best Hot Property show yet. Later that same evening, Mac will be doing some stand-up as part of a string Austin comedy showcase at the Velveeta Room.
Hot Property 8PM w/ Rachel and Dave, and Spirit Desire @ The Hideout Theater. Tickets.
Mac Blake stand-up 9PM @ The Velveeta Room. Tickets at the door, cash only.
++Sat 9/3: Stag Comedy and Mac Blake stand-up at Out of Bounds
Stag Comedy makes their Out of Bounds debut performing a best-of set from their last hit Drafthouse show, The Sweaty Meringue. Stag will be opening for the hit Canadian sketch group, 2-man No-show. The OOB organizers must love making Mac sprint across downtown, because after Stag wraps up, Mac will be performing at and hosting another solid block of stand-up at the Velv, this time featuring mostly out of town acts.
Stag Comedy 9:30PM w/ 2-man No-show @ The Hideout Theater. Tickets.
Mac Blake stand-up 11PM @ The Velveeta Room. Tickets at the door, cash only.
++Thurs 9/8: Master Pancake Theater: Perfect. FREE SHOW
In celebration of their 30th anniversary, the Austin Chronicle is having America’s premier movie-mocking group, Master Pancake Theater, make fun of Perfect, a shitty movie starring John Travolta and Jamie Lee Curtis. Joining MPT’s John and Joe will be Mascot Wedding’s very own David Jara.
7PM @ The Paramount. Free show, RSVP here.
++Thursdays in September: Family Tides
Starting 9/8, Mac Blake and a hand-picked group of waaaaaaay better improvisers are going to bring the dysfunction. Family Tides will take audience members’ stories of family dysfunction and turn them into hilarity right before your eyes. Directed by Lance Gilstrap and Teresa Kubos York, and featuring an awesome cast (and also Mac).
8:30PM @ ColdTowne Theater. Tickets.
++Mon 9/26: First-ever Mascot Wedding Improv Performance
It was bound to happen sooner or later. Come see Ximena Estrada, Mac Blake, and David Jara try their hands at making shit up on stage. Need more motivation than seeing these three fill a room with sweat? It’s also a pay what you want night.
8:30PM w/ Big Beautiful Warlock and Franz + Dave @ ColdTowne Theater
