David and Mac will be performing tonight with Master Pancake Theater but will not be at tomorrow’s shows nor will they be doing the Mascot Wedding show on KOOP tomorrow. Last chance to see MW+MPT mock Lord of the Rings!
Hey folks. This weekend is your last chance to catch Mascot Wedding’s David and Mac as they join forces with John and Joe of Master Pancake Theater to mock Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, downtown at the Alamo Ritz. These shows will sell-out so getting your tickets sooner would be wise.
There’s also an exclusive video from Mascot Wedding running before the show. Unless your love of the halfling’s leaf has slowed your mind, it’s obvious these last shows are gonna be hot hot hot. You don’t believe me? Maybe this image of Joe will convince you.

Mascot Wedding and Master Pancake mock Lord of the Rings – 2 weekends left!
Mac and David have joined forces with Master Pancake Theater to present a thorough and severe mocking of Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. If you hate the LOTR trilogy, come watch David squeal with girlish delight as he eviscerates one of the movies on his own personal Enemies List. If you love the LOTR trilogy, come on down and have your mind blown by how much better the movie is by removing half of it and putting jokes over the “action.” Plus, there’s a bitchin’ skit by the MP/MW crew, and a special video presentation featuring some familiar Mascot Wedding faces. This can’t lose! It shan’t lose!
This show will only be around for two more weekends before it’s gone forever, so get your tickets now at the Alamo Drafthouse website.
Mascot Wedding at Staple Media Expo today
The Mascot Wedding crew will have a table today at Staple, the Independent Media Expo. We’ll have buttons, stickers, comics, hi5s, shirts, smiles, and more to pass out so come say hello and we’ll give you some swag. The show is from 11am to 7pm at the Monarch Events Center. Should be cool. Chris Onstad of Achewood will also be there.
We’ll also be working the KOOP table from 10-midnight tonight at the after party / live art show at Red7.
And don’t forget to tune in to the Mascot Wedding show today from 6-7pm on 91.7 FM (streaming worldwide at koop.org). David will be flying solo, plus it’s a membership drive show so call and show your support.
Mascot Wedding’s The Joy of Painting Wins!
I’m very pleased to announce that The Joy of Painting, Mascot Wedding’s entry into the Alamo Drafthouse’s “Pimp My Television” Filmmaking Frenzy took home first place last Wednesday night at the best-of screening.
Thanks to everyone who got us into the finals by voting online for us. Thanks to Ben Bartley for the support and for lending us equipment. Thanks to Troy and DadLabs for letting us use their studio. Mascot Wedding’s New “Gig”
Gig? Get it? Let me explain. We’ve been making videos for AggieReport.com making fun of Texas A&M’s opponents. This may seem weird because not only are we not graduates of Texas A&M, but we’re all graduates of their rival school, the University of Texas at Austin. So far the project has been very successful resulting in some blog coverage, views in the tens of thousands, and tons of vulgar and heated comments from the fans of the teams we’ve been making fun of. This Saturday is our last show during KOOP’s Fall 2008 Membership Drive it’s also your last chance to score our exclusive album Erler and Sons vol 2 featuring call-in bits by myself, David Jara, and John Erler.
