Two MW Performances this Friday at ColdTowne

Spooookin'
This Friday at ColdTowne Theater, Mascot Wedding will be taking part in two different shows. Up first, MW’s sketch comedy team Stag Comedy will be opening for Midnight Society, as part of their new sketch show, Midnight Society Presents: Halloween Spooktacular IV: Midnight Gallery. Stag will be performing three brand new spooky sketches. Two killer groups on the same bill? Of course it’s gonna sell out. Doors at 8, show at 8:30. Tickets here.

Boxxxin'
Then later that night comes the Cage Match! David, Ximena, and myself will join up with Annette Cantu, Kate Bojanek, and Midnight Society’s Lance Gilstrap to form The Box Social, an improvised dating game loosely based on the 90s TV fiasco Studs. Show at 11:30. Tickets here.

Bring it: All shows at ColdTowne are BYOB.

Video Vednesday

Wednesday doesn’t begin with a V. Already, a terrible post.
Our first video is the promo for the next Stag Comedy show, Mascot Wedding’s sketch comedy project.

The Jerk Parade debuts in November. More details here.

We also have the animated short Giraffe Danger, written and directed by Randall Hopkins and featuring the voice of MW’s Mac Blake. As the French say, enjoy the shit out of it!

You guys knows about Stag Comedy right? Of course you do. You know it’s the sketch comedy project from Mascot Wedding Productions and features the full MW crew along some super talented friends, including members of Master Pancake Theater. I know you check the stagcomedy.com or the Facebook or the twitter, so it’s probably super redundant to tell you that Stag Comedy’s all-new sketch revue Episode 4: The Sweaty Meringue will wrap up it’s two week run at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz tomorrow, Sunday July 10th at 7PM. The Sweaty Meringue is a mix of live and video sketches featuring tales of violent lawyers, street gangs, dino-ducks, helpful wrestlers, prophylactic icons, and more. Joining Stag Comedy on stage are the femme fatales of the sketch group Rattlesnake. The last show sold-out and this will be the final performance of the full show so the sooner you buy tickets the better.

See, you knew all that. I should just shut-up. See you tomorrow!

FREE show.

++Dec 18: Stag Comedy @ Salvage Vanguard Theater. Did you miss Stag Comedy’s last sold-out performance at the Alamo Ritz? Now’s your chance as Stag Comedy will be doing an encore performance of Episode 3 at SVT @ 5 PM. Tickets aren’t available yet, but when they are, expect a post here, on our Facebook page, and also probably on David’s twitter. The dude tweets.

Austin Sketch Fest this weekend (5/27 – 5/29); STAG! Comedy secures Thursday night slot!

Austin Sketch Fest

Are you still kicking yourself for missing the last STAG! Comedy show? Are you looking for something fun to start your Memorial Day weekend? Are you a sucker for killing two birds with one stone? Well, have I got some news for you!

STAG! Comedy (featuring Mascot Wedding, as well as members of Master Pancake Theater and Comedy Sportz) will be performing Thursday, May 27th, as a part of Austin Sketch Fest. Curated by Lance Gilstrap (also a Master Pancake alum and member of the very funny Midnight Society), Austin Sketch Fest is a three day showcase of some great comedy featuring local and national sketch groups. Shows will take place at Coldtowne Theater, with additional shows taking place Saturday night at the United States Art Authority. This will be our first time performing at Coldtowne, so we’re really looking forward to the opportunity to put on a fun show at a great local venue.

For more information about Austin Sketch Fest, click here. For tickets to Thursday night’s show featuring STAG! Comedy (with Green Tuna and Turn of the Century Paris), click here.

Seating at Coldtowne Theater is very limited, so get your tickets while you can. And, if you can’t make it out to support STAG!, at least consider checking out the rest of Austin Sketch Fest. It’s a very cool event and Lance has been busting his ass to put it together.

STAG! Comedy a Huge Success

Joe, Scott, and Ben
Joe, Scott, and Ben

Last Sunday, Stag Comedy (featuring Mascot Wedding) and a whole bunch of friends put on a comedy show and it sold out! We sold out the big theater at the Downtown Alamo Ritz plus, the show went great! Wow! No seriously, it was great! Amazing! Thanks to everyone who helped with the videos and everyone who came out. Once Joe Parsons gets married and honeymooned and whatever, our first order of business is planning a repeat performance somewhere else in Austin. Hopefully, those who couldn’t make it out or were turned away at the ticket counter can see us in another venue.

Thanks to founding Stag members Joe, Scott Chester, and Ben Bartley for letting us em-dub kids wreck shop with them.

In the meantime, if anyone took any pictures at the actual show, please leave a comment. We have plenty of pictures of the after party (some we wish we didn’t have) and video of the whole performance but we didn’t take any still photos. So share’em if you got’em.
