Check out Mascot Wedding’s new video: Over the Top 2: Armageddon!

Hey everyone. Mascot Wedding Productions has made a short for another Drafthouse Filmmaking Frenzy, the 2008 Unnecessary Sequels contest. Our entry is a sequel to Over the Top, the 1987 arm-wrestling movie starring Sylvester Stallone and Robert Loggia. The trailer features folks from Master Pancake Theater and even an original song from Awesome Cool Dudes.

MW and Master Pancake Theater Annihilate Independence Day + Radio News

ID4
Mascot Wedding’s Mac and David are once again joining forces with Master Pancake Theater’s John and Joe. This time, the boys will be showing and mocking Roland Emmerich’s Independence Day, starring Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman and a veritable Who’s That? of stars. Starting July 4th, this is going to be a limited two-week run so don’t delay in seeing this classic celebration of blowing shit up and American ass-kicking. We heard this movie never leaves Toby Keith’s DVD player and with good reason.

Road House Benefit Shows this Weekend

Friday and Saturday night, David and myself will be joining Master Pancake Theater for two shows at the Downtown Alamo Ritz, as they present Road House starring Patrick Swayze. The best part is, in honor of Swayze’s own fight with pancreatic cancer, all proceeds are going to fund pancreatic cancer research. We’re working for free tonight, folks. Here’s what the Alamo’s site has to say:

WE DID IT! (and special offer)

On yesterday’s Mascot Wedding show we raised over $500, pushing our two-show total to over $700. You did it! For a rookie show with a 30-minute time slot this is unprecendented. Thanks so much to everyone who pledged. There were some people that were pledging during the closing minutes of our show who we didn’t get to thank on the air but we shall do that next week as well as the drawing for the bill and erik prize pack.

Thanks so much to everyone who pledged. David and I are so proud of each and everyone of you. KOOP thanks you, we thank you, and we hope you like the premiums (which we’ll be mailing out sometime in May).

If there are any Mascot Wedding fans out there who didn’t get a chance to pledge during our show; because I love KOOP so much, if you make a pledge of at least $25 between now and the end of pledge drive, send me an email with your time and date of pledge and I’ll hook you up with our comedy CD. mac(at)billanderik(dot)com

I know, I know. I said I wasn’t going to do that, but people have been asking me about it, and I can’t turn away possible support for KOOP. It will just be for the CD btw, the shirt and prize pack offers will remain exclusive to those who pledged during the show.

MPT + MW vs. ET = LOL-pocalypse

For the next three weekends, Mascot Wedding’s Mac Blake and David Jara will join with Master Pancake Theater (John Erler and Joe Parsons) for their movie-mocking run of E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial at the downtown Alamo Rtitz theater here in Austin, TX.

Mascot Wedding has teamed with Master Pancake before during their runs of Roadhouse and Conan the Barbarian and now with E.T. will perform a comedy track over a movie that’s actually good. If you’re worried that this improvement in quality will lessen the comedic punches, just remember that E.T. is still a movie about a boy and his magical space-penis that’s actually a Jesus figure who likes to get lit on Coors. Sound the feasting horn!
